The Support Worker will provide care and support to clients with a range of needs including physical, learning and mental health difficulties. The role includes personal care, domestic tasks, assisting with medication and supporting clients to access the community. The Support Worker will work as part of a team under the supervision of a Senior Support Worker or Registered Manager.

Support Worker Job Responsibilities

  • Providing support to service users with various needs

  • assisting with personal care, including washing, dressing and toileting
  • Helping service users to prepare meals and eat and drink if necessary
  • Light domestic tasks such as tidying up, laundry and shopping

  • Supporting service users with medication needs
  • Building positive relationships with service users and their families/carers

  • The skills and qualifications needed for the role of support worker vary depending on the specific job. However, most support workers will need to have at least a high school diploma or equivalent, as well as some experience working with people who have special needs. In addition, support workers must be able to communicate effectively and have good problemsolving skills.
