Major Gifts Officer Job Description Template
The Major Gifts Officer is responsible for identifying, soliciting, and stewarding major gifts from individuals. This position works closely with the Development Director to develop and implement strategies for cultivating, soliciting, and stewardship of major gift prospects and donors. Major Gifts Officer Job Responsibilities
- The Major Gifts Officer is responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding relationships with major donors to the organization.
- The Major Gifts Officer works closely with the Executive Director, Board of Directors and other staff members to develop and implement strategies for engaging major donors.
- The Major Gifts Officer develops proposals and presentations for prospective major donors in collaboration with other staff members.
- The Major Gifts Officer maintains regular contact with major donors through personal visits, phone calls, emails and handwritten notes.
- The Major Gifts Officer stewards existing relationships by planning and executing special events and recognition opportunities for major donors.
- The Major Gifts Officer tracks all contact information and communications with major donors in the organization’s donor database system
