The Development Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support to the Development Department. This position requires excellent organizational skills, strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. The Development Assistant will report directly to the Director of Development. Responsibilities: • Provide administrative support to the Development Department, including but not limited to scheduling meetings, preparing correspondence, and maintaining department files • Assist with planning and executing department events • Serve as point of contact for department inquiries from internal and external stakeholders • Track department expenses and prepare expense reports • Update donor database and prepare donor stewardship reports

  • The development assistant is responsible for providing administrative and clerical support to the Development Department.
  • Duties may include but are not limited to answering phones, preparing correspondence, maintaining files, coordinating department projects, and providing general office support.
  • The development assistant must be able to work independently with little supervision and must be organized and detail oriented.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Objectives

  • To provide administrative support to the Development team in order to help them achieve their fundraising goals.
  • To maintain accurate records of donor communications and interactions, as well as manage databases and files related to development activities.
  • To coordinate logistics for events and meetings related to development, including preparing materials and managing RSVPs.
  • To assist with the creation of marketing and promotional materials related to development initiatives, such as appeals, newsletters, website content, etc.
  • To cultivate relationships with potential donors through research and outreach efforts, as well as steward existing donors through personal interaction and followup communications.
