The Curator is responsible for the care and supervision of the collections in the Museum. They develop, maintain and interpret the collection for exhibitions, educational programs and research. The Curator also works with volunteers and interns to provide training and support in all aspects of collections management.

  • Select objects for acquisition or loan to ensure that the collection represents a broad range of cultures, time periods, and topics
  • Stay up to date on trends in the field of museum curation, and apply this knowledge to enhance the visitor experience

Curator Job Skills & Qualifications Needed

  • A curator is responsible for the care and supervision of a collection of artifacts or other objects. They must have knowledge of the history and value of the items in their care, as well as skills in preservation and display. Curators typically hold a bachelor's degree or higher in museum studies, art history, or a related field.
