Site Supervisor Responsibilities

• Supervise construction activities to ensure projects are constructed per plans, specifications, and safety regulations
• Develop, manage, and update construction schedules
• Plan, enter, and manage data, including timesheets, invoices, change orders, and payments
• Develop and approve subcontractor’s change order requests
• Inspect work daily and ensure that the jobsite is kept safe and clean
• Conduct pre hand-over meetings, ensuring that all parties are familiar with construction schedule and quality standards, and that construction activities are done according to plan
• Maintain communication with subcontractors and vendors on project status, and provide necessary approvals
• Keep jobsite safe by following local, state, and federal laws and best practices for safety and regulatory compliance; reporting violations and accidents to appropriate parties

Objectives

• Oversee all site activities and operations, including managing vendors and subcontractors.
• Direct all site personnel in accomplishing construction tasks
• Maintain oversight of all site duties, ensuring that all employees perform duties in a safe manner
• Meet with project architect, engineers, and government representatives to determine changes and updates in construction methods, processes, and strategies
• Ensure that projects are completed on time and within specified budgets

Site Supervisor Skills Needed

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field
• 2+ years of experience supervising a construction crew
• Ability to coordinate all phases of site development, including preparation of design plans, selection of materials, scheduling, quality control, and estimates
