Metal Stud Framer Job Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints or drawings to determine the type of trusses, joists, studs, or other structural members required
- Mark cutting lines on materials using pencil, chalk, paint, or other appropriate markers
- Measure and cut lumber and metal studs to specified dimensions using power saws or hand tools
- Assemble wood or metal framing members by nailing or screwing them together
- Build temporary wooden supports to hold up ceilings or walls during construction
- Install drywall sheets onto metal stud framing
