The Podiatrist will be responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the foot, ankle and lower leg. They will work with patients of all ages to provide care for conditions such as bunions, hammertoes, heel pain, ingrown toenails and diabetic foot care. The Podiatrist will perform examinations, order diagnostic tests, prescribe medications and devise treatment plans. They may also recommend orthotic devices or surgery when necessary.

Podiatrist Job Responsibilities

  • Prescribe and dispense orthotic devices such as arch supports, braces, and shoe inserts to correct foot abnormalities.
  • Remove corns, calluses, and ingrown nails.
  • Perform minor surgical procedures on the feet.
  • Provide wound care for ulcerations and infections of the skin and underlying tissues of the foot.
  • Manage diabetic foot problems.
