The Graduate Assistant will provide support to the academic department in which they are employed. They will perform a variety of tasks including but not limited to: assisting with research projects, preparing teaching materials, grading assignments and exams, and providing administrative support. The Graduate Assistant will also be expected to attend departmental meetings and events.

Graduate Assistant Job Responsibilities

  • Serve as a teaching assistant for one or more courses
  • Assist in the development and implementation of course curriculum
  • Hold office hours to provide assistance to students
  • Grade assignments and exams
  • Prepare and deliver lectures when needed
  • Conduct research under the supervision of a faculty member

Objectives

  • To provide academic and administrative support to faculty members in the department.
  • To assist with the planning and implementation of departmental events and activities.
  • To serve as a resource for students in the department, providing information about course offerings, degree requirements, and campus resources.
  • To contribute to the development and maintenance of departmental records and files.
  • To participate in departmental committees as needed or requested by the chairperson.
