The Activities Director will be responsible for organizing and implementing a variety of recreational programs for the residents of the nursing home. These programs will aim to improve the quality of life for the residents by providing them with social and physical activities that they can enjoy. The Activities Director will need to be creative in order to come up with new ideas for programs, as well as being organized in order to manage the many different aspects of each program. They will also need to have excellent communication skills in order to interact with both the residents and their families.

  • Encourage residents to participate in activities that promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being
  • Plan and coordinate special events for holidays and other occasions
  • Maintain records of residents' participation in activities and document any changes in their mood or behavior

Activities Director Job Skills & Qualifications Needed

  • Bachelor's degree in recreation, physical education, or a related field
  • 2-5 years of experience working in recreation, fitness, or a related field
  • CPR and First Aid certification
  • Ability to lead and motivate others
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
