ABA Specialist Job Description Template
The ABA Specialist will provide direct one-to-one instruction to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder in the areas of academics, communication, and social skills using Applied Behavior Analysis techniques. The ABA Specialist will also collect data on student progress and behavior, and use this data to develop individualized treatment plans. In addition, the ABA Specialist will consult with teachers and other school staff on how to best support students with ASD in the classroom.
ABA Specialist Job Responsibilities
- ABA Specialist is responsible for providing behavior therapy to individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities.
- ABA Specialist will develop individualized treatment plans based on each client's needs and goals.
- ABA Specialist will provide oneon-one therapy as well as group therapy sessions.
- ABA Specialist will track progress of each client and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans as needed.
- ABA Specialist will collaborate with other professionals, such as teachers, speech therapists, occupational therapists, etc., to ensure that clients are receiving the best possible care.
Objectives
- To provide behavior analytic services to individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities in order to improve their quality of life.
- To develop individualized treatment plans for each client based on their specific needs and goals.
- To implement behavioral intervention programs that are designed to teach new skills and reduce problematic behaviors.
- To track the progress of each client and modify treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal results.
- To collaborate with other professionals (e.g., therapists, teachers, physicians) involved in the care of clients to ensure a coordinated and comprehensive approach to treatment.
ABA Specialist Job Skills & Qualifications Needed
- A bachelor’s degree in psychology, education, or a related field
- Experience working with children with autism or other developmental disabilities
- Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles and techniques
- Ability to develop individualized behavior intervention plans
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
