In most cases, a writer will specialize in a particular type of writing. For example, a technical writer may produce user manuals or white papers; a copywriter may create marketing materials such as brochures or website content; and a journalist may write articles for newspapers or magazines.

- There are no formal qualifications needed to become a writer, although many writers have a degree in English, journalism, or communications. Strong writing skills and the ability to tell a compelling story are essential for this role.
