Spray Painter Job Description Template
A Spray Painter is responsible for applying paint, primer, and other finishes to surfaces using a spray gun. This may include working on cars, buildings, bridges, or any other structures that require painting. The Spray Painter must be able to mix paints to achieve the desired color and consistency, as well as prepare surfaces by sanding them down or removing old paint. They must also have excellent hand-eye coordination in order to produce a smooth and even finish.
Spray Painter Job Responsibilities
- Read and interpret job order to determine painting specifications and materials required
- Select the appropriate paint, thinners, primers, and other materials needed for the job
- Mix paints according to specified ratios
- Spray surfaces with a consistent layer of paint, using either a hand-held sprayer or a larger automated machine
- Apply additional coats of paint as necessary
- Inspect finished product for defects and ensure that it meets quality standards
- Clean equipment and work area when job is completed
