Physical Design Engineer Job Skills & Qualifications Needed
- A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related field
- Experience with circuit design and layout tools, such as Cadence Virtuoso or Mentor Graphics PADS
- Familiarity with industry-standard design methodologies, such as Synopsys Design Compiler or place and route tools
- Ability to run timing and power analyses to verify the feasibility of designs
- Good communication skills to work with other engineers on a team
