- To enforce laws and ordinances, issue citations, make arrests, conduct investigations and perform other law enforcement duties as required.
- To provide for public safety by remaining alert and observant at all times while on duty.
- To maintain order during crowd control situations and investigate disturbances.
- To write clear and concise reports documenting all incidents encountered while on duty.
- To testify in court as needed in regards to cases worked while on duty.
- To perform first aid and CPR as needed when responding to calls for service
Patrol Officer Job Skills & Qualifications Needed
- Patrol officers need to have strong communication and interpersonal skills. They must be able to effectively communicate with people from a variety of backgrounds and cultures. They also need to be able to work well under pressure, as they often have to deal with difficult or dangerous situations. In addition, patrol officers need to be physically fit and have good eyesight.
