Journeyman Plumber Job Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine layout of plumbing system, water supply network, and waste disposal system
  • Install pipes and fixtures such as sinks and toilets using hand and power tools
  • Cut openings in walls or floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings
  • Join pipes together using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, solderin sealants or welding equipment
  • Fill pipes or plumbing fixtures with water or air to test for leaks
  • Repair or replace defective equipment parts using hand tools and power tools
