Immigration Paralegal Job Description Template
The Immigration Paralegal will provide support to the attorneys in all aspects of immigration law. Duties include but are not limited to: conducting research, writing and editing legal briefs, preparing correspondence, maintaining client contact, calendaring deadlines and appointments, managing document production, and case management. The Immigration Paralegal must have excellent written and oral communication skills as well as strong organizational skills. Spanish fluency is preferred but not required.

Objectives
- To provide support to attorneys in the area of immigration law by preparing and filing various legal documents, conducting research, and maintaining client files.
- To keep abreast of changes in immigration law and procedure and update attorneys accordingly.
- To maintain contact with clients to keep them apprised of their case status and ensure that their needs are being met.
- To prepare reports summarizing client meetings and correspondence for attorney review.
- To attend court hearings as needed to provide support to attorneys representing clients in immigration matters.
Immigration Paralegal Job Skills & Qualifications Needed
- The skills and qualifications needed for the role of Immigration Paralegal vary depending on the employer, but usually include a bachelor's degree in paralegal studies or a related field, as well as experience working in immigration law. Some employers may also require certification from the National Association of Legal Assistants (NALA) or a similar organization.
