- The grip is responsible for the erection, positioning, and maintenance of all supports used by the electricians and lighting technicians on a film or television set. This includes tripods, scaffolding, ladders, and various types of rigging. They must be able to safely operate a variety of tools and equipment, as well as have a strong understanding of weight distribution and loadbearing structures.
