General Counsel Job Skills & Qualifications Needed
- The General Counsel is the legal advisor to the company who provides advice on all legal matters. The skills and qualifications needed for this role include:
- A law degree from a recognized university
- Admission to practice law in the jurisdiction in which the company operates
- A minimum of five years’ experience working as a lawyer, preferably in a corporate setting
- Excellent research, writing and analytical skills
- The ability to work independently and handle multiple projects simultaneously
