Freight handlers are responsible for loading, unloading, and transporting freight to and from a warehouse. They monitor the cargo and make sure it is not damaged. They also prepare freight for transport and ensure that it is properly labeled.
Freight Handler Job Responsibilities
- Pick, pack, and load freight on trains and trucks
- Complete daily work logs and any related paperwork, including BOL, DAT, and BOL/DAT
- Drive tractor trailers and log miles weekly
- Maintain accurate truck records, including maintenance logs
- Report all accidents and incidents to management immediately

Freight Handler Skills Needed
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Experience in warehouse and facility management
- Knowledge of handling, unloading, stacking, and moving freight
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and/or carry up to 55lbs
- Extremely safety conscious
