Freight handlers are responsible for loading, unloading, and transporting freight to and from a warehouse. They monitor the cargo and make sure it is not damaged. They also prepare freight for transport and ensure that it is properly labeled.

Freight Handler Job Responsibilities

  • Pick, pack, and load freight on trains and trucks
  • Complete daily work logs and any related paperwork, including BOL, DAT, and BOL/DAT
  • Drive tractor trailers and log miles weekly
  • Maintain accurate truck records, including maintenance logs
  • Report all accidents and incidents to management immediately

Freight Handler  Skills Needed

  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Experience in warehouse and facility management
  • Knowledge of handling, unloading, stacking, and moving freight
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and/or carry up to 55lbs
  • Extremely safety conscious
