Communications Assistant Job Description Template

- Draft speeches and talking points for executive staff members.
- Plan and execute promotional campaigns for events and programs.
- Manage social media accounts, including creating original content, responding to comments and questions, monitoring activity, and reporting results to stakeholders.
- Serve as liaison between the organization and external vendors, such as printers, graphic designers, etc.

- To develop and implement effective communication strategies that support the organization's goals and objectives.
- To manage the organization's internal and external communications, including media relations, public relations, marketing communications, and employee communications.
- To develop and execute communication plans and programs that raise awareness of the organization and its products, services, and brand.
- To manage the development and distribution of highquality written materials such as press releases, news stories, speeches, presentations, brochures, fact sheets, website content, and social media content.
- To cultivate relationships with members of the media and pitch story ideas that promote positive coverage of the organization.
- To serve as a liaison between the organization and its various stakeholders, including customers, employees, shareholders/investors, partners/vendors, government officials/regulators, etc., to ensure timely exchange of information and resolution of issues/concerns.
Communications Assistant Job Skills & Qualifications Needed
- There are many skills and qualifications that could be useful for a communications assistant, but some of the most important ones include excellent writing and editing skills, strong interpersonal skills, and experience with various communication platforms and software. A bachelor's degree in journalism, public relations, or a related field is also often required.
